January 11, 2025 - OBAB's First Cleanup of 2025: A Huge Success!

56 amazing volunteers came out to support OBAB's first cleanup of the year at the Millicoma Marsh! This beautiful trail system, located by Millicoma Elementary School's track field on 4th Avenue in Eastside, received a much-needed makeover thanks to our dedicated community.

Our incredible volunteers tackled over a mile of trail maintenance, spreading mulch over muddy paths, trimming invasive plants away from young trees, and clearing invasives from trees and under the bleachers.

We had volunteers of all ages stepping up to give this park the love it deserves. This was OBAB's first cleanup at this location, but it certainly won't be the last!

A huge thank you to everyone who participated! We also want to give a special thanks to Jamie Fereday for inviting OBAB for this cleanup. Big thanks to the Coos Watershed Association for lending some tools to help make the cleanup easier. We truly appreciate the goodies provided by Coos Head Food Co-Op and dessert coupons from Blue Heron Bistro. These community partners give volunteers an extra boost and reward for their efforts!
